What is Impact?

IMPACT is a grassroots organization committed to making the Oak Park/River Forest, IL community aware of the realities of teen drug & alcohol use, with the goal of reducing that use by collaborating with those in the community who have influence over our youth.

IMPACT was formed out of the results of the Illinois Youth Survey in 2010. The survey confirmed a long held belief that there is a higher than average rate of under age substance use among children and teens in the Oak Park/River Forest area.

Oak Park/River Forest community believes in creating a healthy environment for everyone - especially our children.

Since medical evidence clearly shows that substance abuse among those under 21 can cause irreparable physical and mental damage, concerned community members formed IMPACT to educate all residents on the dangers of underage substance use and reduce that use among our children.
